Manor School - Kilburn

Manor School Kilburn will open in September 2026, expanding Manor School’s outstanding specialist provision so that more local children and families can access high quality special school places.

Located on Canterbury Road, NW6 5ST, the new provision will be co-located with St Mary’s Primary School in Kilburn. The site will provide a calm, well designed environment for pupils while remaining closely connected to the wider Manor School community.

Manor School is an established special school supporting pupils aged 4 to 11 across two sites. As the need for specialist school places in Brent continues to grow, Manor School and the Rise Partnership Trust have worked with the Local Authority to expand provision so that more local children and families can benefit from our specialist support.

The opening of Manor School Kilburn is a key part of this expansion and will enable more families in Brent to access high quality provision close to home.

Manor School Kilburn will open initially with three classes in September 2026, with a fourth class joining in January 2027.

During the 2026 to 2027 academic year, the site will support pupils in Years 1 to 4.

The provision will grow in phases and, by September 2028, Manor School Kilburn will become a nine class provision for 81 pupils from Year 1 to Year 6.

This carefully planned growth allows the school to expand sustainably while maintaining the high quality teaching, care and support that Manor School is known for.

Our Curriculum and Specialist Provision

Pupils at Manor School Kilburn will access the same broad, ambitious and personalised curriculum that is delivered across Manor School.

Teaching will be delivered through highly-structured and supportive approaches that allow pupils to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.

Manor School Kilburn will be staffed by experienced teachers and support staff who specialise in supporting pupils with autism and complex learning needs, ensuring that every child receives the personalised support they need to thrive.

Pupils at the Kilburn site will also benefit from access to specialist facilities at our Kensal Rise site, including:

  • the Life Skills room, where pupils develop independence and practical everyday skills
  • the school swimming pool, which supports physical development, wellbeing and confidence in water
  • additional specialist learning spaces used across the Manor School curriculum

The two sites are located approximately 1.5 miles apart, enabling pupils to benefit from shared expertise, resources and opportunities.

Manor School Kilburn will be co-located with St Mary’s Primary School, creating opportunities for collaboration between the two schools.

The Kilburn site will be refurbished ahead of opening in September 2026, ensuring it is fully equipped to meet the needs of our pupils.

The site will include:

  • dedicated classrooms
  • a hall and dining space
  • staff offices and support areas
  • a playground for outdoor learning and play
  • a separate entrance for Manor School Kilburn

The provision will be fully separated from St Mary’s Primary School while remaining part of the wider school community.

The building is all on one level, which will help support accessibility and may benefit pupils with mild to moderate physical disabilities, alongside their other special educational needs.

Part of the Manor School Community

Although based at a new location, Manor School Kilburn will be fully integrated within the Manor School family of sites, which includes:

Together, these sites provide a consistent, high quality educational experience from Reception through to Year 6, supported by specialist staff, strong leadership and a shared vision for inclusive education.
